wearABLE was inspired by my godbrother William, who was paraplegic and passed away at thirty-nine. He dreamed of designing clothes for people who had been overlooked by fashion. When I got the chance to pitch for Meta Next Up, I didn’t want to just send a resume. I wanted to create a world where someone like William could walk into a fitting room and feel like it was meant for him.
The longer cut: how wearABLE got me into Meta Next Up, and who I am as a maker.
